The performance Saudade - la sensazione del tuo vuoto - aims to visualise the sense of nostalgia, the deep and inward perception of emptiness due to the absence or the distance from somebody. This feeling of melancholia will be embodied through the symbolism of fleshing and emptying an actual pig heart. The pain from being separated from those I love have always been radica- lised within me through a somatic perception of unbridgeable emptiness residing in my heart. During the action my desire is to interact with that void, drag it into the tangibi- lity of the outward, materialising this sense of being emptied by the others’ ab- sence. This mutilated heart will embody the desert desolation of my own.
